Boudin
About
Boudin Bakery is a fast casual restaurant based in San Francisco, California, known for its sourdough bread and notably the oldest continuously operated business in the city. Established in 1849 by Isidore Boudin, it gained popularity by blending the sourdough prevalent among miners in the Gold Rush with French techniques.
Project Goal
Create a responsive website that attracts current and future customers, allows for easy navigation to learn more about the company and also improves the ordering functionality.
01
For Boudin it was time for a refresh for a better user experience. Their previous site was not mobile responsive and with an ample history that dates back to 1849, it was time to create a site that could live in 2021, but pay homage to their past.
Above is the original home page design along with the proposed site map.
02
After researching the current fast casual dining landscape, we created wireframes to solve some of the issues Boudin's current site was presenting.
03
After approval, we moved forward with creating high fidelity layouts for both desktop and mobile, creating a consistent look throughout the site. New illustrations were introduced as a tribute to their past along with a mix of old and new photography.
This is a simplified version of the process. Like to learn more? Let’s chat!
